What Sets Them Apart
We asked Liquid Gardens to highlight what sets them apart from the competition:
"We came up with our own liquid fertilizer formula from trial and error and tested it out 2 years before we launched it to the public. We strive to be hands down the best manufacturer and supplier by offering the best products on the market and to offer hands on customer service by the owner to help with all your needs and questions."
So what are these "best products" offered by Liquid Gardens? Here's a snapshot:
Optimum All-In-One Fertilizer
LG Optimum is an easy-to-use, concentrated all-in-one fertilizer. It contains all the essential macro and micro nutrients aquatic plants need to grow optimally. This specific formula covers all planted aquariums. The spill-free and accurate pump nozzle eliminates the hassle of juggling dry salt fertilizers and the burden of solving the complicated math and mess associated with mixing your own liquid fertilizers. Unlike some fertilizers on the market, LG Optimum is safe for community tanks including all fish, shrimp, and snails.
Catappa Leaves
Catappa Leaves are rich in tannin and humic acids that are the right pH level for soft water and blackwater fishes. It creates the right environment for sick fishes to heal and for healthy fishes to thrive and breed. As Catappa leaves break down, they can serve as a microhabitat and food source for small creatures in the tank, like shrimp and some species of catfish. The biofilm that develops on decomposing leaves is often eaten by shrimp.
Alder Cones
Alder cones are commonly used in the aquarium trade to buffer water due to their high tannin content, which makes them perfect for blackwater tanks. They are also believed to posses antimicrobial and antifungal properties beneficial to the well-being of your aquarium inhabitants. As they break down, alder cones can serve as a food source for some small aquatic invertebrates like shrimp and certain types of snails. The biofilm that grows on decomposing cones is a delicacy for many shrimp species.
Lotus Pods
Lotus Pods are ideal decor for blackwater tanks as well as many other setups, providing shelter to fry and small species of shrimp, crabs, crayfish, snails, and fish while maintaining a natural look in the aquarium. They also serve as an ideal growth medium for biofilm and diatoms, both of which are key food sources to countless aquatic animal species, including shrimp and other invertebrates as well as fish.
Lotus Pods also have buffering qualities. As they decompose, they release tannins (tercatin, punicalin, punicalagin) that lower the pH of the aquarium, but at a gradual rate. This is particularly beneficial for aquatic animals that require acidic, low-pH water. Lotus Pods can also be used sparingly in high-pH setups as well.
