The 1.5" low profile strainer will have a 3.25" diameter for the actual strainer portion.

hi so if i buy this does it come with the lock nut and rubber seals, i have a overflow box but want to use these as the drains to the box will it work ?

Great question! These are intended to be used with a standard bulkhead. They do not act as a bulkhead on their own. The strainers will fit into the slip or thread fitting of a bulkhead. :-)

I just purchased the 1" Threaded Low Profile Strainer. I would like to know what size hole to drill in my aquarium. I assume the 1 3/4" that would be used for the 1" ABS bulkhead, but wanted to be sure.

Hey there!
Tough question as the Low Profile overflow strained is intended to be glued or threaded into a bulkhead and not used by itself to be the only item going through the glass. If used in conjunction with a 1" bulkhead the hole size will be 45mm or 1.65"

The OD of the strainer will be around 1" and will fit directly into a 3/4" bulkhead or 3/4" adapter. The stem is 1" just long enough to insert into the bulkhead. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

Please help, I need to put a strainer on my Herbi overflow, I have RR 1 1/2 pvc drain and I liked the low profile strainer but I am Leary since it says it's for a bulkhead and I have a PVC pipe. Thank you

This strainer will slip into a bulkhead just like a piece of pipe. This means if you want to connect this strainer to a pipe you will need a slip x slip coupler. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
