The Easiest Way to Hatch Baby Brine Shrimp

  • No Aeration, Heat, or Tubing Required
  • Natural Separation for Clean Harvesting
  • Ideal for Feeding Fry, Community Fish, and Picky Eaters
  • Simple 24–36 Hour Hatch Time
  • Compact Design for Easy Setup

Brine Shrimp Direct’s Brine Shrimp Hatchery Dish is one of the easiest and cleanest ways to hatch live baby brine shrimp at home. Designed for simplicity, the hatchery naturally separates the empty shells and unhatched eggs from the baby shrimp, making it fast and easy to harvest healthy live food for your freshwater fish. The hatched shrimp naturally swim toward the light and gather in the center of the dish, ready for feeding.

In most cases, eggs hatch within 24–36 hours, giving you a fresh, highly nutritious treat for small community fish, fry, and picky feeders. You can feed the baby shrimp directly to your aquarium or transfer them to another container to gut-load with additional nutrition like spirulina powder before feeding.

Average Hatching Rate - 0.4 grams of Premium Brine Shrimp Eggs can yield over 100,000 baby brine shrimp.

Dimensions - 8" Diameter x 2.25" Tall

How To Use:

1. Rinse all components with freshwater.

2. Place the dish in a warm, well-lit area. Fill with 2.5% saltwater (approximately 25ppt salinity) to the fill line and insert the separation ring.

3. Spread one scoop of Premium Brine Shrimp Eggs evenly around the outer ring.

4. Let the hatchery sit undisturbed for 24–36 hours.

5. After hatching, collect the baby shrimp from the center using the included Artemia Sieve.

6. Rinse the dish and components with freshwater after each use.

Hello. Can I add spirulina powder with the eggs at the beginning?
Question by: Laura Grim on Mar 1, 2022, 12:07 PM
Hey Laura, thanks for the question! The brine shrimp do need to be several days old before they will start eating. I would recommend not putting in spirulina at the beginning.
