90% Hatch-Out Rate
Bulk Reef Supply's Premium Brine Shrimp Eggs (Artemia franciscana) will produce a minimum of 245 thousand baby brine shrimp (nauplii) per gram of cysts making it one of the highest yielding brine shrimp eggs available. Hatching brine shrimp eggs is super simple with a hatchery which you can buy or DIY. Live baby brine shrimp make a great treat for any fish, but can be extremely useful with finicky fish like dragonettes, angels, and wrasses. In order to ensure the highest nutritional value, artemia nauplii should be harvested and used within the first few hours of hatching. They are not capable of eating traditional foods initially, and will use up their egg yolks quickly during their first several hours, so they are most nutritious upon first hatching.
Storage:
It is highly recommended to store the eggs in a cool, dry place that maintains a temperature under 50°F to maintain hatching rates. We recommend dividing the eggs into what you will use in a 1-month period and store them in the refrigerator in a container with a tight-fitting lid, and then any remaining to be stored in the freezer in a similar container.
We suggest using the Brine Shrimp Direct Hatchery Disk for hatching and harvesting. The BSD Hatchery Disk does not need any aeration, heat, or tubing, and the unique design allows for natural separation of the eggs and brine shrimp making harvesting the shrimp quick, clean, and easy.
