While you can lower it, it will not go down to 4 GPH. It does not have precise tuning.

I purchased this pump to operate outside of water. I need it to take water from my tank and pump it through a uv filter to return to the tank. I cannot get this pump to pull water from the tank and do the above. What am I doing wrong? All connections are correct. If I put the pump in water it works. When the pump is outside of water it doesn’t. It need to pull water 1 plus foot up out of the tank and then up 4 feet through the uv back into the tank. Thanks.

Hey there!
Sounds like the pump has not been primed, often times what helps is moving the intake of the pump slightly below the tank so water gravity feeds in and primes the pump. There are YouTube videos as well that can show you how to prime an external pump.

Hey guys, I need some advice. I have a 55 gallon reef. Cs 90 overflow and the eshopps r-100 fuge. Do u think this pump will do? I have a VERY limited budget. Thanks for your time

Great question! I would say that this pump would be far under powered for your size of tank. I would recommend the Sicce 3.0 or better yet 4.0 :-)

Could I use this for a return pump for my mixed saltwater to be pumped to my tank? It has to go about 40 ft and has an elevation of about 25 inches along the way. Thanks

Great question! This pump is far too under powered to run as a return pump with that distance. This pump would be sufficient for a 10-20gal tank with a sump directly underneath it. I would recommend a much larger internal pump or begin looking at external pumps.

I just installed mine yesterday and hearing a decently audible hum from the pump. Is this normal? Does it need to break in? I read reviews stating this pump was super quiet. And could barely or not be heard at all.

Great question! AC pumps are inherently a bit noisy. These pumps by Sicce are going to be the most quiet available in the AC pump market. It is still recommended to utilize the rubber feet as well as a small section of silicone tubing between the pump and the plumbing. Also be sure that the pump is not touching the edge of the sump wall. :-)

Is the Sicce 2.0 sufficient to use as a return pump on a 40 breeder with a 40 gallon sump pumping 4' up?

The sicce 2.0 has enough flow however the head height of 4 feet will greatly limit the end flow. This has a maximum height of 6.5 feet where the flow will go to 0 GPH. this means at 3 feet up the flow will be decrease by half to 250 GPH. even higher of 4 feet will probably reduce down to 200 GPH. We recommend a slightly larger pump to match closer to the 10x your system volume.

Is the Syncra Silent 2 (568 gph) sufficient for a 66 gallon reef tank and sump or should I go with Syncra Silent 3?
