Product Questions

im planning to use this as a secondary pump to run water thru the Pentair 40w UV sterilizer at about180 gal per hour. Wonder if this pump will be able to do this flow rate after increasing output diameter to 1.5 inch pipe?
Question by: Scott Hanan on Feb 19, 2022, 7:32 AM
The increase in diameter will not impact the flow of this pump. It would still be capable of 357gph before head height and elbows are takin into account.

Is this pump suitable to use as the primary return pump in a 72 gallon salt water configuration. My target is approximately 4x tank turnover through a sump.
Question by: Brian on Jun 6, 2018, 1:26 PM
Hi Brian,

Due to head pressure on the pump, you will likely be getting less than 288 GPH of flow into the tank. I would recommend the Syncra Silent 2.0 Pump (568 GPH) or Eheim CompactON 2100 (555 GPH) pumps at a minimum to account for the loss of flow from head pressure.

Both of these pumps can be adjusted to decrease the flow if you find they are too powerful. Alternatively, you can install a ball valve like the ones from Two Little Fishies to adjust the flow.

I want to use this pump to feed a Skimz
MONZTER ZM120 EXTERNAL ZEOLITH REACTOR. Can I do it and if so, how?
Question by: Ethan Sooklal on Jan 28, 2018, 9:59 AM
You would just need a section of 1/2" tubing and that will go between the pumps output and the input to the reactor.
Answer by: Charlie on Jan 28, 2018, 12:04 PM
Is this pump a direct replacement for the sicce syncra sk 200? I have a seaside aquatics ES5 protein skimmer that needs a new pump?
Question by: JL on May 10, 2017, 10:24 PM
Hey there,
I'm afraid these pumps are not rated for use as a skimmer pump. They do not have pinwheel impellers for skimmer function and include standard impellers for water movement.

Have a great day!

Is there a way to attach 1" braided vinyl tubing to this (or should I order smaller tubing)?
Question by: Melissa LeGette on Dec 4, 2016, 4:49 PM
Great question! The outlet for this pump is 1/2". You will not be able to use 1" tubing without using a series reducing fittings. It will also loose more head pressure and gph with the expansion to 1".
Answer by: Randy on Dec 17, 2016, 7:51 AM
What size braided tubing should I run with the 1.5?
Question by: Sean on Nov 12, 2016, 12:27 AM
Great question! The output will accept 3/8"-9/16" hose, in which case, the 1/2" braided vinyl tubing will work. :-)
Answer by: Randy on Nov 14, 2016, 2:43 PM
I want to use this for the BRS duel carbon/GFO reactor as recommended by your company.

How do I attach this to the reactor?
Question by: Ryan Angelo on Jun 6, 2016, 5:56 PM
Great question!
