    Why does BRS recommend this?

The BRS 1.1 mL dosing pump is a very cost-effective yet long lasting stand-alone dosing pump perfect for trace elements and 2 part.  By hooking the pump up to a simple timer or aquarium controller they can be one of the most inexpensive ways to get into an automated 2 part dosing system. With their peristaltic design, they will not back siphon and provide extremely accurate flow rates.

BRS 2 Part Dosers are intermittent duty pumps and not meant for continuous operation. We recommend on/off cycles under a few hours to maximize lifespan. You will need two pumps in order to dose both calcium and alkalinity.  When used with controllers like the Apex, we recommend connecting these to a mechanical relay outlet, and not a TRIAC outlet on the controller's power bar.

    • Silent operation
    • Extremely accurate
    • Will not back siphon
    • 12-month tube life (at 4 hours of use per day)
    • 24-month Bulk Reef Supply warranty on pump motor and head

    Specifications:

    • Max Head: 20ft
    • Average Output: 1.1mL per Minute*
    • Dimensions: 4" x 3.25" x 4.5"
    • Power Consumption: 3W @ 120VAC
    • Tubing Type: Santoprene

    Note:

*Each pump is capable of dosing a single solution. You will need two pumps to automate both calcium and alkalinity solutions. Timer not included

**On average BRS 2-Part Dosing Pumps will output 1.1mL per minute but may vary depending on your supply of power and what other equipment is being run off of the circuit. We do suggest running the pump for 10 minutes and collecting the liquid from the output to know how much the pump will dose in a 10-minute time frame. Simply dividing the total output by 10 will let you know how much the pump will dose per minute of operation.

    Product Questions

Have a couple of these and it's time to replace the output tubing. I used the Drew's Doser tubing last time around and it's a very tight fight onto the ends. Do you have any other tubing that is a better fit, yet is flexible? Don't want the stiff murloc tubing. Would the Simplicity Silicone Colored tubing work? Thank you!!
Question by: Joe B. on Sep 3, 2022, 4:55 PM
    Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, the simplicity tubing will work, but it will be tight to get on at first. using some warm water will help.

Hello. Since a lot of supplements need refrigerated after opening, can the BRS dosing pump be placed inside a fridge? Thanks.
Question by: Clint Dickerson on Aug 3, 2022, 12:20 AM
We do not recommend placing a BRS Dosing Pump into a refrigerator.

It comes with two different styles of tubing. One is clear the other opaque. Is one for intake and one for out? If so which is which?
Question by: Gary on Dec 17, 2021, 6:25 AM
Thank you for your question. The opaque more rigid tubing is used for the draw tube and the clear flexible one is for the dosing tube. In some situations, the clear tube can collapse under vacuum so that is why the more rigid tube is included.
