Product Questions
Many American cichlids like to dig, sift and build in substrate. A grain size of 0.5-2 mm is fairly small (on the fine sand side), but if you have larger diggers or fish that move substrate a lot, smaller grain may cloud easier or shift more.
As for this substrates' effect on the water chemistry, for many American cichlids, the neutral pH/hardness approach works fine. This substrate being neutral means it won’t help you raise pH or hardness. If your water is very soft and you need buffer, this substrate won’t assist.
