Great question!
For a standard return pump you will want 10x your system volume (the sicce 3.5) many people will take head height into consideration for example the Sicce 3.5 has 660 gph at 0' height. at 12.5' the flow will be 0 GPH. At 6' for example the flow will typically be around 300 GPH. This means you also have the option to up-size the pump to account for head height. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

Will this pump be sufficient for my 76 gal tank protein skimmer?
Question by: Rob on Jan 18, 2014, 11:51 AM
Hey Rob,
Most likely it would be fine but you will usually find a required or recomended flow rate in your protein skimmers specifications. Assuming that falls somewhere into this flow range as most skimmers for a 76g tank would you should be in great shape!
