Be alerted of water spillage and take corrective action before disaster strikes
- Optical sensor technology
- More reliable than analog counterparts
- Epoxy-coated and corrosion-resistant
- Can be reused after contact with water
- Nonreactive to metallic surfaces-- no more false alarms
- Multiple applications-- can be placed almost anywhere
- Weighted to stay flat
- Connects to FMM port to communicate with Neptune Apex controllers
Neptune's LD-3 Multi-Surface Optical Leak Sensor marks a significant improvement over its analog counterpart, the LD-2 Solid Surface Leak Detection Probe. While the LD-2 utilizes conductive strips to detect fluid leaks on surfaces around your aquarium, the LD-3 takes advantage of optical sensor technology instead. This shift in sensor technology gives the LD-3 two distinct advantages over the LD-2:
- Reusable and resistant to corrosion. The LD-3 sensor can be reused after contact with water. Unlike the conductive strips of the LD-2 which are prone to corrosion from contact with saltwater, the LD-3's epoxy-coated optical sensors can continue to provide long-lasting leak detection after repeated contact with saltwater & with no risk of corrosion!
- Multi-surface applications with no false alarms. The conductive strips used on the LD-2 can sometimes give a false alarm when placed on metallic surfaces. With its optical sensor, the LD-3 can effectively be used on any hard surface material type, including metal and epoxied cement, without the risk of triggering false alarms.

Can you please provide size information for the unit? Length, width, height.

Can this device detect wet carpet?
Question by: Glenn Hermes on Oct 4, 2022, 12:38 AM
The sensor is about 1 /34" x 1 3/4" x 3/4". Yes it can work on carpet, but the longer the carpets pile height, the less effective it becomes.

How can you set this up in Fusion? When I go to tasks, it doesn’t list the LD-3 for setup.

Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. It'll be a sensor within the FMM module, it'll be under Swx#_# the number symbol will vary depending on the location of the sensor and FMM module.
Please let me know if you need anything further and take care!

What is the default state of the ld3? Open or closed? What option is used in the FMM? WATER ON FLOOR or OPTICAL? thanks
Question by: kyle larsen on Aug 26, 2022, 2:13 PM
The default for the LD-3 should be OPEN all the time until wet and then goes to CLOSED. However, when you connect the LD-3, it will be detected as an optical sensor and read CLOSED 24/7. With the FMM moving forward, you need to set the port for the type of sensor that is connected. The LD-3 is a water on the floor sensor and needs to be set as such. Then the tile will go to OPEN.

Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. LD-3 is water on floor, there is no defauult state. The state is Open if dry and Closed if wet, the normal state of this depends on your application
