The Adaptive Reef Refugium, featuring AquaIllumination’s Blade Refugium light, delivers efficient and controlled nutrient export for modern reef aquariums. With its innovative top-lighting design and sealed construction, this algae reactor provides all the benefits of macroalgae or turf algae filtration without the typical drawbacks of light spill, noise, or cumbersome maintenance.

The main body of the reactor is sealed and water-retaining, giving you flexibility to use it submerged or externally, depending on your setup. For optimal performance and a seamless fit, the AquaIllumination Axis 40 pump is the ideal match (pump sold separately).

The AI Blade Refugium is a high-efficiency LED light designed specifically for macroalgae growth. With a spectrum tailored for photosynthetic performance, featuring targeted red and blue wavelengths, the Blade Refugium delivers even and focused light to maximize nutrient export. Its low-profile and water-resistant construction ensures reliable operation in demanding reef environments. The light is also MXM compatible, allowing for wireless integration with Neptune Systems Apex controllers for advanced lighting control and automation.
