Details

150 GPD membrane features a 98% rejection rate at 65 PSI which makes it the most commonly used membrane when speed is the primary importance. If you require faster water production and have good water pressure this is one of the better options.

BRS generally recommends the use of the 75 GPD DOW membranes because it offers 98% rejection at easier to obtain water pressures. The higher rejection will result in better quality water and lower DI resin consumption.

Flow and rejection rates are based on the following:

  • 550ppm soften water
  • 65 PSI
  • 77 degree water
  • 15% Permeate Recovery
  • Data taken after 30 minutes of operation

It is very important that the water pressure going into the membrane be at least 65 PSI or the membrane will not function at specified rates.

I have the 200 gpd set up 6 started - I believe I need new membranes do I get 2-100 ?
Question by: Eric Mrugacz on Aug 22, 2024, 9:32 AM
That would be correct. x2 100 GPD RO Membranes.

What too is needed to open the white canister holding the membrane?
Question by: Dan Arnold on Jan 17, 2024, 12:59 PM
A strap wrench is probably the easiest tool to open these with.
Answer by: Tyler Schafer (BRS Staff) on Jan 19, 2024, 1:50 PM
Is this a DOW Filmtec membrane? And if not, who makes it?
Question by: Jesse on May 23, 2017, 11:53 PM
While most membranes are produced in one of only a few manufacturing plants, the 150gpd membranes we carry are sourced from the same supplier but are not Dow-branded.

Hope this helps!
Answer by: Zack on May 30, 2017, 3:45 PM
Hi BRS!
I let my two 75 gpd RO membranes dry out while redesigning my setup. They seem to make very little product water now. Did I ruin them? Will they work better after soaking a while? Should I replace them?
Thanks.
Question by: MICHAEL DONLEY on Jun 7, 2016, 12:08 PM
Hey there,
Thanks for letting us know. In this situation while you can attempt to run them most likely the membranes will need to be replaced. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Answer by: Connor on Jun 7, 2016, 6:13 PM
Is it possible to add another 150 membrane filter to my existing 150 to be able to produce more water? I have a booster and it gives me about 80psi.
Question by: Randy Velasquez on May 9, 2016, 11:33 PM
Great question! While you certainly can add another 150 gpd membrane to your system, we do not recommend it as the 10" pre-filters are not designed to handle more than 150gpd of flow and will restrict the system from being able to produce as much water as the membranes would be trying to draw.
Answer by: Carter on May 10, 2016, 4:55 PM
is this the correct membrane for the BRS 150gpd water saver system.
Question by: Patrick Arden on May 9, 2016, 11:47 AM
No,
Our 150 gpd water saver systems will use two 75 GPD membranes back to back.

Answer by: Connor on May 10, 2016, 4:55 PM
Can this membrane be installed into one of BRS RO/DI filter kits? As well as getting a newer restrictor to run this membrane, what about the auto flush? Do one have to install new the restrictor before the auto flush?
Question by: Angel on Jan 14, 2016, 10:57 AM
will this membrane fit inside a standard membrane housing?
Question by: john on Jun 18, 2014, 5:28 AM
Hi John,
It sure will. Just be sure that you have enough water pressure to meet its higher demands and that you change your flow restrictor to a 150gpd flow restrictor (assuming you don't have a 150 already).
Answer by: Bulk Reef Supply on Jun 18, 2014, 5:28 AM
I have 75 GPD RO DI 5 stage from Bulkreef, then i purchased the 150 GPD upgrade .....so now i have two membranes , what do I use (2 )75 GPD membrane or (2) 150 GPD membrane ? ? ?
Question by: Rocky on Feb 22, 2014, 4:07 PM
Hi Rocky,
That system would be 2x 75gpd membranes for a total of 150gpd.
Answer by: Bulk Reef Supply on Feb 22, 2014, 4:07 PM
how often do we change the membrane?
Question by: loc on Nov 29, 2013, 4:48 AM
Hi Loc,
Assuming you treat them nice by keeping up on the prefilter changes, proper flushing, etc, they will generally last 3-5 years and can even last much longer.
Answer by: Bulk Reef Supply on Nov 29, 2013, 4:48 AM
I have a 75 gpd 4 stage I bought almost two years ago, will 150gpd membrane fit in my 75gpd housing? And will I need anything else for upgrading to the 150 membrane?
Question by: Jamie on Nov 24, 2013, 8:37 AM
Hi Jamie,
The 150gpd membrane will fit just fine into the same membrane housing. You will need to make sure you also replace the 75gpd flow restrictor with the 150gpd flow restrictor.
