Know Your Flow!
Usually used with a return pump, this flow sensor can be placed in line with the flow on any pipe, connected to the FMM, and communicate to your Apex the flow rate of water through that pipe. The FS-50 will work with flow rates from 30-250 gph, and will connect to any standard 1/2" Slip PVC. The flow sensor itself uses British Standard Parallel Pipe (BSPP) threads so two specially designed PVC unions are provided with slip fittings to adapt it to standard 1/2″ PVC plumbing.

Product Questions
I want to use this on my external algae reactor which is fed by a return pump on my all-in-one. I'm using a reactor that uses 1/2" hoses. Could I use these (1?2" PIPE ADAPTER SPIGOT X BARB) from your site to glue into each of the included adapter ends and then connect the lines by the barb ends?

Hey there,
Yes you would be able to use those to adapt to soft tubing.
Take care

What is the length from end to end of the meter and fittings?

Thanks for reaching out to BRS!
I heard back from Neptune Systems on this, and the measurements (plus fittings) are as follows: 4" x3.25". Have a great day!

Hello could these flow sensors be submerged. Say in the overflow box plumbing. I don’t have room to put them between the under side of tank and top of the sump.
Question by: Adam on Nov 18, 2017, 7:22 PM
The flow sensors are not designed to be submerged, unfortunately. They can take splashes but placing them underwater could cause them to fail.

I'd like to attach one of these to the return hose of my all in one tank (Red Sea Max Nano). I contacted Red Sea, who said that the internal bore should be 19mm. How do I add a flow sensor onto that return tube?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch with us in regards to this set-up you are planning. In order to get that set-up you will need to use a metric to standard fitting. I have included a link here below to an item that you can use to get this taken care of. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with. Thanks!

How long is the cord on this sensor?
Question by: Jeremy Braband on May 2, 2017, 1:25 PM
Hey there,
The flow sensors have a 16 foot cord length, so you should be in good shape in a variety of plumbing setups!
Happy reefing!

How do I hook this up to the BRS media reactors which come with 1/2" tubing? Is there a push-connect fitting that can connect 1/2" tubing to this flow meter?
Question by: Steve on Apr 25, 2017, 12:25 AM
Hey there,
The connections on the flow meter are female slip, so in order to connect to the RO tubing of the reactor, the most likely solution would be to glue a short section of 1/2" pvc into the coupling, and then attach a female slip x thread coupling, and you could then insert an npt x push connect fitting into this. I've included links below to these two fittings.
