Live Animal Shipping Policy

BRS offers sustainably raised live animals from multiple partners to provide you a broad selection you can be assured are responsibly sourced and ready to thrive in your aquarium.

• Get Free Shipping on live animal orders over $179 per partner and $39.99 Flat Rate Shipping on orders under $179 per partner.
• Want to shop multiple partners? No problem! Orders over $179 from a partner get free shipping. Or, get $39.99 Flat Rate Shipping if your order from that partner is under $179.

All orders containing live fish and coral ship via Next Day Air to minimize transit time and ensure animal safety. Orders containing macroalgae and copepods will be shipped via 1 - 3 day expedited shipping. Orders placed Monday – Wednesday at Noon EST / 9 am PST ship the same week, and orders placed Thursday – Sunday will ship the following Monday. Once your order is on the way, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.

Holiday & Weather Delays

We only ship when it’s safe to do so.

• Weather: Extreme temperatures or adverse weather may cause temporary delays. We’ll always ship at the earliest safe opportunity to protect animal health.
• Holidays: To prevent animals from being held in transit, we may delay shipping by one business day if your order coincides with a holiday.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Every effort is made to ensure your animals arrive healthy and safe. However, despite our best care, losses can occasionally occur in transit. If any animals do not arrive alive, please contact us within 12 hours of delivery and include a clear photo of the affected animal. Contact us and we’ll work with you to reimburse or replace any animals that didn’t survive the trip.
