Live Animal Shipping Policy

BRS offers sustainably raised live fish, corals, invertebrates, macroalgae, pods and phytoplankton from multiple partners to provide you with a broad selection that are responsibly sourced and ready to thrive in your aquarium.

Fish, Coral & Invertebrates (ORA & Eye Catching Coral)

• Get FREE shipping on live fish, coral & invertebrate orders that subtotal over $179 per partner.
• A $39.99 flat rate shipping fee is only added on orders that subtotal under $179 per partner.
• Want to shop multiple partners? No problem! Add all of your desired items from as many partners as you wish to your shopping cart for a streamlined checkout experience. Shipping fees are calculated per partner and accurate details including pricing and transit times will be provided for each partner in the shopping cart before checking out.

Algae, Pods & Phytoplankton (AlgaeBarn, ARC Reef & Reef Hype)

• AlgaeBarn, ARC Reef & Reef Hype items will ship FREE of additional shipping charges when any combination of these items subtotal $39.99 or more.
• A $9.99 flat rate shipping fee is only added on orders that subtotal under $39.99.

All orders containing live fish, coral and invertebrates ship via Next Day Air to minimize transit time and ensure animal safety. Orders containing macroalgae, phytoplankton and copepods will be shipped via 1 - 3 day expedited shipping. Orders placed Monday – Wednesday at Noon EST / 9 am PST ship the same week, and orders placed Thursday – Sunday will ship the following Monday. Once your order is on the way, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.

Holiday & Weather Delays

We only ship when it’s safe to do so.

• Weather: Extreme temperatures or adverse weather may cause temporary delays. We’ll always ship at the earliest safe opportunity to protect animal health.
• Holidays: To prevent animals from being held in transit, we may delay shipping by one business day if your order coincides with a holiday.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Every effort is made to ensure your animals arrive healthy and safe. However, despite our best care, losses can occasionally occur in transit. If any animals do not arrive alive, please contact us within 12 hours of delivery and include a clear photo of the affected animal. Contact us and we’ll work with you to reimburse or replace any animals that didn’t survive the trip.
